Hi.Yup there is a little Lock Button.and I have been clicking that button which pulls up a WARNING window.hoping to see another SLIDER for controlling the FAN MANUALLY, but, past that window and after I enable the AMD overdrive by putting a check on the small checkbox, still the window shows only two sliders and two meters, out of which, one keeps monitoring the temperature of the GPU and second, monitoring the GPU consumption. 'Performance' lowers the power it needs as it is meant to run smooth without being overworked and needing more power as the 'quality' would.Did you 'unlock' the overdrive options? Should be a check box or a little lock that you need to click. If it is set too low for 'quality' it would do that. Its the frequency or MHz that is shorting because it doesnt have enough power. Correct with what the tech said, power options. I haven't had any more random flickers or gray-screens, though there are some artifacts after the screen turns off idling, but that goes away with refreshing. The solution tech support gave me was making sure my power options were on 'performance' and updating all of my drivers, which seems to have gotten rid of it. This will just keep your gpu temps down while gaming, longer. When I'm done gaming, I disable it and let it run slower. Another thing to consider, I manually click on 'Enable Manual Fan Control' and set it to 85% before I start gaming. It will adjust your clocks how they should be without damage to your GPU. This will run for a while, let it do its thing, do not touch your keyboard. AMD OVERDRIVE ENABLE MANUAL FAN CONTROL GREYED OUT SOFTWAREL'aggiornamento software che abilita mappe tomtom. If nothing happens, go back to your Catalyst Controller, click on 'Performance' then 'AMD Overdrive' and click the button above the clocks 'Auto Tune.' If it does, then you may have a faulty heat sensor and your card is getting extremely hot and causing your gray screens. Play games on it and see if the problem persists. My suggestion to fix your issue: Go into your Catalyst Controller and default your card. This is a hardware issue which 90% of the time is caused by the user messing with settings they didnt know of. Games will run upto an hour of game play before you get this 'repeated' grey screen problem. To be sure your settings work without any issues. As Overdrive pushes the limits of video cards, it can cause issues if used. ![]() The setting, which is part of ATI's Catalyst Control Center, enables users to tune settings such as clock and fan speeds. This could happen but always run 'Test Custom Clocks.'ĪTI Overdrive is a technology used with ATI Video cards to overclock and adjust performance speeds. ![]() You may have underclocked your Memory clock settings with your GPU clock settings. You said you never overclocked the card either, but have you messed with the settings in the 'Performance' section called 'AMD Overdrive'? This is something else that may have happened if you did. All cards go to the gray screen and lock up your computer when they overheat, its a 'safety feature' to rapidly cool down your card without damaging the GPU. ![]()
